12 Characteristics of a Godly Woman

    Characteristic #7 – A Servant Heart

Having a servant heart is described as one of the greatest indicators of the character of a woman of God. 1 Tim 5:10 describes service in three different areas: toward fellow Christians, toward those in need, and those in “good works”. God has a purpose and plan for your life, and when you use your talents for His glory, you are playing a part in the greatest Story on Earth.

12 Characteristics of a Godly Woman

Characteristic #8 – Honor and Respect

Honor all people . . . not just the good, deserving, powerful or influential people who can prosper you; but honor ALL people. In other words, even those who can never do anything for you in return. How can we honor all people and follow a core message of Jesus’ teachings? Do to others whatever you would like them to do to you” (Matt 7:12)

    Guest Moderator: Cheryl Irish

Cheryl’s heart's desire, since she was a teen, was to live out her faith as a Christ follower. Her vision for her life didn’t include teaching. But when her third child, Jimmy, had a stroke at birth, she knew God wanted her to be a teacher - Jimmy’s teacher. She acquired teaching licenses in elementary and special education and has since completed degrees in Biblical Studies, elementary, and special education. Jimmy has achieved academically, graduated on time, and went on to become a US Marine!

Cheryl’s greatest challenges have included supporting faculty members when the mandate to teach online became an instant reality, and leading educator preparation programs through state approval and national accreditation efforts. Her greatest joys have included watching her students graduate and collaborating with families all over the world to discover their children’s strengths and facilitating educational plans to support them well.

12 Characteristics of a Godly Woman

    Characteristic #10 – Self-Control

    A Godly Woman Exercises Self-Control

Self-control is often an ignored virtue in our society, but it is such a crucial one. Women who lack this characteristic will destroy many relationships over the course of their lives. From gossip and anger to past hurts and selfishness, we lash out with words when exhaustion and stress get the better of us. Join us in a discussion on how we can put a strategy in place, to bridle our tongues, regardless of the situation, and let patience, loving kindness guide the conversation.

    Guest Moderator: Rita James

Rita James is a Bible teacher who also enjoys writing Bible studies. She was saved when she was a mom of three small children and was immediately drawn into Bible study. She soon discovered the inductive method of study which proved to be a pathway for her to grow deeper in the Word.

Her passion is to study deep and long but to write a study that allows busy women to ponder and then discuss one Bible chapter a week. Rita considers each teaching opportunity to be a holy privilege.

She has 3 grown children and 11 grandchildren, one of whom studies the Word with her. She also enjoys golf, tennis, pickleball and hiking - many with her husband of 49 years.

    " Two Conversations/Possibilities"

Join us with facilitator Karin VanZant to discuss these intriguing questions and explore our soul potential.

Guest Moderator: Karin VanZant, Community Developer,  Clearlink Partners

12 Characteristics of a Godly Woman

    Characteristic #11 – Hospitality

    A Godly Woman Shows Hospitality

God views the act of hospitality as precious, and He praises women of the Bible for their welcoming spirit. When it comes to hospitality, less is more; it’s the connection that counts most. If we believe our home must be Pinterest-Perfect, then we may become overwhelmed when opening our homes to guests, instead of realizing that people will not remember the state of the house nearly as much as you, and the love they received in it.

    Guest Moderator: Charlene Goeglein

As you prepare for the coming new year, consider the examples from your life which can be used to teach and mentor the next generation. Who is God asking you to share your wisdom with this day, this month, this coming year?
